Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy is issued by Scholar Tech Innovations Pvt Ltd, trading as "Cricstars". This Policy applies to all purchases, subscriptions, and transactions made through Cricstars websites, mobile applications, and related services.

Important Notice

This Policy must be read in conjunction with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct, and Disclaimer.

1 General Principles

  • 1.1 All sales and transactions made through Cricstars are subject to this Policy and applicable consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (New Zealand) and the Fair Trading Act 1986 (New Zealand).
  • 1.2 Cricstars distinguishes between:

Merchandise Transactions

Physical goods

Digital Transactions

Subscriptions, tokens, in-app features

Tournament & Event Transactions

Entry fees, bookings

Marketplace Transactions

Services by independent Users

2 Merchandise (Physical Goods)

  • 2.1 Cricstars accepts returns of physical merchandise purchased directly from Cricstars, provided that:
  • (a) the item is returned within seven (7) days of delivery;
  • (b) the item is unused, unworn, and in its original condition with tags and packaging intact; and
  • (c) proof of purchase is provided.
  • 2.2 Refunds will be processed once the returned item has been inspected and approved. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe.
  • 2.3 Cricstars does not accept returns of merchandise purchased through third-party vendors or Business Accounts. Users must contact the vendor directly for such returns.

3 Subscriptions and Digital Services

  • 3.1 Subscription fees (including premium memberships, analytics packages, or enhanced features) are non-refundable once billed, except as required by law.
  • 3.2 Users may cancel subscriptions at any time through their account settings. Cancellation prevents further billing but does not result in a refund of amounts already paid.
  • 3.3 Free trial periods, if offered, may be cancelled prior to conversion to a paid plan to avoid charges.

Tip: Cancel your free trial before it ends to avoid being charged for a subscription.

4 Tournaments and Events

  • 4.1 Tournament entry fees, match bookings, and event registrations are non-refundable once payment is confirmed.
  • 4.2 Cricstars may, at its sole discretion, issue refunds or credits in cases of event cancellation caused by Cricstars.
  • 4.3 Cricstars is not responsible for cancellations, forfeits, or disputes between participants, and no refunds shall be issued in such cases.

5 CSTAR Tokens and Presale Allocations

  • 5.1 Purchases of CSTAR tokens, including presale allocations, are final and non-refundable.
  • 5.2 CSTAR tokens are utility tokens and do not carry any right to refunds, buybacks, or redemption guarantees.
  • 5.3 Users acknowledge that token values may fluctuate and Cricstars makes no representation regarding liquidity, resale value, or availability on secondary markets.

CSTAR token purchases are final. Token values may fluctuate, and there are no guarantees of liquidity or resale value.

6 Marketplace Transactions

  • 6.1 Services provided by Users (such as scoring, coaching, umpiring, or training) are contracts between Users. Cricstars is not a party to these contracts.
  • 6.2 Refunds for marketplace transactions must be resolved directly between the service provider and the customer.
  • 6.3 Cricstars disclaims liability for non-performance, disputes, or refunds in connection with marketplace transactions.

7 Refund Process

  • 7.1 To initiate a refund request (where permitted under this Policy), Users must contact Cricstars at support@cricstars.app with:
  • (a) proof of purchase;
  • (b) order or transaction ID;
  • (c) description of the item, service, or subscription; and
  • (d) reason for the request.
  • 7.2 Cricstars reserves the right to request additional information, evidence, or documentation before processing a refund.
  • 7.3 Refund eligibility shall be determined strictly in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

8 Exceptions

8.1 Refunds will not be issued for:

(a) change of mind

(b) dissatisfaction with performance or outcomes of tournaments, AI insights, or analytics features

(c) failure to attend or participate in scheduled matches, tournaments, or events

(d) loss of CSTAR tokens due to market fluctuations or user error (e.g., wrong wallet addresses)

9 Consumer Rights

  • 9.1 Nothing in this Policy limits any rights Users may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) or other applicable consumer protection legislation.
  • 9.2 Where mandatory rights apply, this Policy shall be interpreted consistently with those obligations.

Your Rights Are Protected

Your consumer rights under New Zealand law remain fully protected regardless of this policy.

10 Changes to Policy

  • 10.1 Cricstars may amend this Policy at any time.
  • 10.2 Material changes will be communicated via the Platform. Continued use of the Services following notice constitutes acceptance.
