Cricstars Code of Conduct

The Cricstars Code of Conduct sets out the mandatory standards of behavior for all Users of the Cricstars ecosystem, including websites, mobile applications, tournaments, marketplace, and business services. This Code applies to every User, whether acting in an individual capacity, as a service provider, or as a Business Account.

Important Notice

By using the Services, you agree to comply with this Code in addition to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1 Integrity and Fair Play

  • 1.1 Users shall act honestly, fairly, and in good faith in all interactions on the Platform.
  • 1.2 Match data, scoring, tournaments, and statistics must be recorded accurately without manipulation or falsification.
  • 1.3 Cheating, match-fixing, token fraud, and exploitation of software vulnerabilities are strictly prohibited.

2 Respectful Conduct

  • 2.1 Users shall treat all participants, officials, business partners, and Cricstars personnel with dignity and respect.
  • 2.2 Discrimination, harassment, abusive language, hate speech, or defamatory conduct based on race, religion, gender, age, nationality, disability, or any other protected category shall not be tolerated.
  • 2.3 Users shall maintain professionalism in communication, whether public or private, including on Cricstars' messaging and posting features.

3 Safety and Wellbeing

  • 3.1 Users participating in matches or tournaments must act with due regard for the safety of others.
  • 3.2 Threats, violence, or behavior endangering physical or mental wellbeing are strictly prohibited.
  • 3.3 Cricstars encourages the reporting of misconduct and reserves the right to suspend accounts for unsafe conduct.

4 Marketplace and Business Accounts

4.1 Users offering services (such as scoring, coaching, umpiring, commentary, or training) are deemed Independent Contractors and must:

  • (a) deliver services as described;
  • (b) honor commitments made to clients; and
  • (c) comply with applicable consumer and tax obligations.
  • 4.2 Business Accounts must represent genuine legal entities and maintain accurate business information.
  • 4.3 Misrepresentation of qualifications, identity, or affiliations is prohibited.

5 Content Standards

  • 5.1 Users are responsible for all Content posted or shared on the Platform.
  • 5.2 Content must not:
  • (a) contain obscene, offensive, or violent material;
  • (b) infringe intellectual property rights;
  • (c) mislead or defraud;
  • (d) disclose personal data of others without consent.
  • 5.3 Cricstars may remove or restrict Content at its discretion if it violates this Code or applicable law.

6 Tokens, Rewards, and Transactions

  • 6.1 Users must not manipulate CSTAR token allocations, transfers, or redemption processes.
  • 6.2 Fraudulent activities, including identity fraud, double-spending, or unauthorized wallet use, are prohibited.
  • 6.3 Users must comply with all applicable financial, anti-money laundering, and anti-fraud obligations in their jurisdictions.

7 Advertising, Sponsorship, and Promotion

  • 7.1 Users may advertise or promote only in accordance with Cricstars' policies.
  • 7.2 False endorsements, unverified sponsorships, or misleading promotions are prohibited.
  • 7.3 Cricstars may remove or suspend advertising privileges for violations.

8 Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • 8.1 Users must respect the privacy and data of other Users.
  • 8.2 Unauthorized access, data scraping, or misuse of personal information is prohibited.
  • 8.3 Users must comply with the Privacy Policy at all times.

9 Compliance with Law

  • 9.1 Users must comply with all applicable laws, including the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and the Privacy Act 2020 of New Zealand, as well as laws in their own jurisdiction.
  • 9.2 Use of the Services for unlawful activities, including gambling, fraud, or intellectual property infringement, is strictly prohibited.

10 Enforcement and Consequences

  • 10.1 Cricstars reserves the right to investigate any alleged violation of this Code.
  • 10.2 Consequences for breaches may include:
  • (a) warnings or suspensions;
  • (b) removal of Content or advertisements;
  • (c) forfeiture of CSTAR or tournament eligibility;
  • (d) termination of Accounts or Business Accounts; and
  • (e) referral to legal authorities where required.
  • 10.3 Decisions of Cricstars regarding enforcement are final.

11 Reporting Violations

  • 11.1 Users are encouraged to report violations of this Code via support@cricstars.app or in-platform reporting tools.
  • 11.2 Cricstars shall handle reports with discretion and in accordance with applicable laws.

Report Misconduct

If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately. Your reports help maintain a safe and respectful community for all users.

12 Amendments

  • 12.1 Cricstars may amend this Code from time to time.
  • 12.2 Material changes shall be communicated via the Platform, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
